Session Abstract: Have you wondered what work-life balance looks like for faculty members? Or, as a faculty member, do you seek ways to better balance your roles? Join us for an open conversation framed on the ethic of self-care and the practice of self-compassion. In an open forum for all to share, we will explore what is known about faculty demands and detail intentional practices for enhanced work-life balance.

Session Learning Outcomes:

  • Explain the data that exists pertaining to faculty workload and strategies for work-life balance
  • Discuss work-life balance related challenges with peers
  • Identify practices they can implement to improve their work-life balance, reduce possible work-life balance triggers, and feel empowered to implement self-care and self-compassion techniques.
